Sanjay Chheda
Director of Strategy & Business Development, Amazon Web Services
Sanjay Chheda is currently Director of Strategy & Business Development for Amazon’s cloud computing business, Amazon Web Services. Sanjay was previously Vice President, Corporate Development, at Intellectual Ventures focused on spinouts of innovative new companies from the Invention Science Fund. Sanjay worked at Microsoft Corporation for 18 years in various leadership roles in product management, product planning, corporate development, and sales management. From 1999 to 2004, he was Managing Director in Microsoft’s Corporate Development Group with responsibility for acquisitions, strategic investments, and new ventures. In his final position at Microsoft, Sanjay served as Regional Vice President of Microsoft’s Consumer & Online business for the Greater Asia Pacific Region. Before joining Microsoft, he worked in the investment banking group of Salomon Brothers Inc.
Sanjay serves on the Dean’s Advisory Council for the School of Public Health at the University of Washington and on the board of Sightlife, a non profit dedicated to ending Corneal Blindness globally by 2040. He holds an MBA from Stanford University, as well as a BSc in economics and computer science from the University of Pennsylvania.
